Rothko Taylor revient dans sa ville natale d’Edgecliff à sa sortie de prison. Tout a changé, rien n’a changé. Les souvenirs se mêlent au présent : les tentatives ratées d’Ezra et Meg, ses parents, pour mener une existence décente, et la douceur de Dionne, son regard aimant qui libère.
