Vacation Stages

School vacations are a great opportunity to relax and take more time for yourself. Vacation stages are mini English-style day camps that take place during either the small school breaks (All Saints, Christmas, February, Easter) or the summer vacation (the first two weeks of July and the last two weeks of August). The stage runs for a week with a break on Wednesday. Children from 4 years old and teens up to 15 can attend in the morning (9am to 12pm), afternoon (2pm to 5pm), or for the full day. Daycare is available from 8:30am to 5:30pm, including lunch for children staying for the full day.

Here is the schedule for a typical day of camp:

From 9:00 to 10:15 AM and/or 2:00 to 3:15 PM: board games, English gym, songs, reading a story in English, and themed songs.
Break with English playground games (indoor or outdoor depending on the weather).
From 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM and/or 3:30 to 5:00 PM: manual, sports, creative, or culinary activities in English.
For each camp, we organize an outing related to the theme (zoo, tree climbing, canoeing, swimming pool, escape game, etc.).

Camps are often theme-based and are a great opportunity to have fun while learning new structures and expressions and enriching vocabulary.

If you are still not fully convinced about early learning, read on:

Several studies have shown how important it is to expose children to a second language from an early age. Before the age of 3, we have an exceptional hearing ability that diminishes as we grow. The earlier a foreign language is learned, the closer it is stored to the "native language area" in the brain. Therefore, the sooner a child is exposed to multiple languages, the faster they learn.

Parents often wonder if learning two languages prevents mastering French completely… Rest assured, this is not the case! Studies have even shown that children exposed to multiple languages later become better at their native language.
